Simpson Ghost Bandit Helmet - Gloss Black

Yea they look cool, but this is the worst helmet I have ever owned! I bought the Gloss black Ghost Bandit from Konquer in Kelowna BC a few weeks ago, and within seconds of my first ride I noticed a ton of wind noise on the highway (and I have heard this from many other Simpson owners too). I mean really loud! I had to crank the volume all the way up on my Cardo headset just to hear my music.
Then, a few days later I was about to go for another ride, and after putting my helmet on, realized I forgot something in the house and ran back inside to get it. When I passed by the door I LIGHTLY bumped the helmet on the door and much to my surprise a big chunk of the paint came off (about the size of a quarter) right down to the plastic! Now I have been riding for 3O years, and I have on occasion dropped my helmet on the ground and never even once chipped the paint on a helmet. As I stated already, this was from a light 'bump' on the door while wearing my helmet! So I took the helmet back to Konquer, and everyone there agreed this was a manufacturer's defect, and the paint should have never chipped off like it did. Their Simpson rep said nope, nothing they would do!
I was then told to contact Gastown Supply, the local distributor for Simpson, and after I did, the reply I got back was they don't handle warranty issues, and to contact Simpson directly (which apparently is NOT true). So I then contacted Simpson and explained the situation, had to send them pictures (again) of the paint issue, along with my proof of purchase this time, and about a week later, got a short email response that they don't believe this is a manufacture's defect and there is nothing they will do. Not surprised, after the shitty customer service experience with Gastown and Simpson (*the ladies at Konquer have been helpful though!). Well, lessons learned I guess, the high price tag is not warranted, and never buy from Simpson as they will treat you like crap when you have an issue with their overpriced products. My $300 Scorpion and Shoei helmets are twice the helmet as this Simpson POS!

Excellent fit, true to size, looks tough and it’s a Simpson….what more can you ask for out of this helmet!

Love this helmet! Everything about it. Extremely comfortable and looks great! Went to a bike show in Toronto and they didn't have any of the black in my size in stock but happily gave me a discount code to use when back in stock. Great guys at the booth and were quick to answer emails! Would buy off this website again for sure!!
